Call to order at 7:00 pm by President Mat.

Members answering roll call, President Mat, Tom Smargiassi, Angie Niehaus, Mike Tichler, Dean Wright, Jamie Melville, and Cheryl Liebenstein.

The minutes from the December meeting were reviewed and accepted without dissent, by Dean. Second by Tom. Motion Carried.

Angie made a motion to pay all bills as presented. Motion second by Tom.  Motion carried.

No transfer of funds needed.

Dean made a motion to approve the treasurer report as presented. Second by Angie. Motion carried.

Rob will have eight late notices/pending shut off to put out this week.

Mike noted that the lagoon needs a new blower pump. It is ten years old and not fixable. A blower pump is approximately $5,000.00. Mike made a motion to approve the purchase of a new blower pump for the lagoon. Motion second by Tom.  Motion carried.

We had a water main break on LuMar and realized it was still a 4-inch cast iron. Rob noted that LuMar and BradMar are our problems areas with main breaks. We will look to replace the older cast iron soon.

STREETS/ALLEYS/LIGHTS/SIDEWALK

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

The committee presented the quotes for a new mower. We had three quotes, Sloan with a Zero turn John Deere for $16,200, Johnson Tractor with a Kabota plus trade in for $16,440.31 and Heritage Tractor with a John Deere for $16,700.

Motion was made by Dean to approve the purchase of the Zero Turn John Deere from Sloan’s for $16,200. Motion second by Tom.  Motion carried.  Jamie will send this to the TIF lawyer for approval to pay as a 75/25 split with TIF and General funds.

Rib would like to see us purchase lighted garland for the poles downtown during the Christmas season. We have 14 poles and the garland comes in 15-foot sections with lights. Approximate cost is $2340.00.

Tom made a motion to approve the purchase of lighted garland.  Motion second by Dean.  Motion carried.

Rob will advertise for summer help at the school in March with interviews to follow.

POLICE

The handheld radar gun is now working. Geraud is still interested in working for us but is currently on medical leave from his other job.

Kurt spoke with the homeowner on Main St regarding the need for them to replace the dangerous sidewalk,

LIQUOR

Brew N Chew is in negotiations for purchase.  Now is the time to update the Liquor Ordinance if needed. We do have enough licenses to cover the businesses in town currently.

Old Business

Jamie has the Motor Fuel Resolution ready for purchases of salt, cold patch, and street light charges for the year 2026 January thru December.

New Business

Angie made a motion to give the Post Prom committee a donation of $100.00.  Motion second by Dean.  Motion carried.

The United States Postal service inquired regarding zoning, building permits, water, and sewer etc. They have two sites that they would like to look at for possible new post office.

Reminder that Rock River Energy will be here in February for village resident’s electrical contract. Our current contract ends in June.
