Call to order at 7:00 pm by President Mat

Members answering roll call, President Diehl, Bob Asche, Bob Knoup, Mike Tichler, Kirk Knoup, Dave Dixon, Tim Martens, Cheryl Liebenstein and Jamie Melville.

The minutes from the March meeting were reviewed and accepted without dissent, by Dave. Second by Kirk. Motion Carried.

Committee made a motion to pay all bills as presented. Motion second by Dave.  Motion carried.

Bob K. made a motion to approve the treasurer report as presented. Second by Tim. Motion carried.

Visitors

Fehr Graham was not present for the meeting.  President Mat informed board on Derek’s notes. 

Gasvoda will be here on Thursday to complete the last of the punch list for the well house.

Walgren Road bid letting will be held April 11th.

The lead water service line inventory grants are now open and applications are due on April 25th. Fehr Graham will apply for the grant for us if we are interested.  Rob noted that we do not need the grant since we do not have any lead service lines.

Fischer’s Excavating will have to return to do some dirt work and seed at the water main looping site,

Oconnor Brooks was not present for the annual audit. Tim offered to go to Galena to pick up the audit and ensure that it is signed and filed with the state.

FINANCE/TIF FINANCE

The new rates for this fiscal year will include the automatic 25 cent increase.  Jamie will have the new rates ready and send out the coupon books.

STREETS/ALLEYS/LIGHTS/SIDEWALK

BUILDINGS/GROUNDS

The committee received 3 resumes for summer help.  Jacob Lieb, Myles Friedland, Lucas Tichler.

The committee made a motion to hire Lucas Tichler and Myles Friedland for the summer at $13.00 an hour.  Motion second by Dave.  Motion carried.  Mike Tichler abstained from the vote.

Jacob Lieb will be our alternate worker if needed.

Kirk has no further information on the shower house at the campground. Tim noted that we have spent $13,000.00 for improvements and received $7,000.00 in campsite fees.  Board members need to think about the additional cost of a shower house.

Old Business

President Mat and Mike have been in contact with several landowners regarding solar panels from Synergy Solar.  At this point, none are interested in selling or leasing any land. They will speak with two more land owners before contacting Synergy Solar to decline the proposal of solar energy for the village.

President Mat noted that Ron Johnson has been in touch with the State regarding the digital sign. Ron has informed the state what the sign would be used for, such as birthday greeting, Queen of Hearts, etc. Chip Bowen has also questioned whether he would be liable for the sign.

Jamie noted that Chip Bowen needs to contact our TIF lawyers to complete the agreement before any payments are made to him.

The village has received a complaint of noise from BoCo.  The individual was informed to come to the meeting to discuss the issue but did not show.

 New Business

Clean up day will be May 6th from 8am to 2pm at the village maintenance lot.  The Boy Scouts will be helping that day. 

Reminder to get out and vote the local election on Tuesday.

The village will still have two open spots for trustees. Contact President Mat if interested in filling a position.
